Tactical top-down shooter game
RUNNING WITH RIFLES is a premium action game for PC developed by Osumia Games. It is a tactical top-down shooter featuring a military theme. In it, players will assume the role of a low-ranking soldier as they slowly work their way up the ranks, participating in large-scale battles across multiple locations.
Similar in concept to other games like Arma 3 or Arma Reforger, this version of RUNNING WITH RIFLES lets players experience tactical battle scenarios on large maps in a more casual way. It also offers all kinds of weapons, equipment, and vehicles that they can equip and ride.
Foot soldier
RUNNING WITH RIFLES is a military-themed shooter wherein you assume the role of a common low-ranking soldier in the army. The core gameplay revolves around battles happening on a large-scale map, and the twist comes in its RPG elements that allow you to level up, or in its case, rank up through the fights you participate in. This means you slowly gain authority in the army as time goes on.
Interestingly, the main campaign in RUNNING WITH RIFLES lets you decide how you want to play and approach the battlefield. You can rush into the front lines or take on a more supportive role across a large open map with hundreds of locations. Gain access to an arsenal of weapons, vehicles, and support items. You can even call in air support if your rank is high enough.
Then, you have multiplayer gameplay that supports up to 40 players at the same time. Select between three game modes, namely co-op, PvP, or PvPvE as you like. There are also speech bubbles to help with communication, which is a nice touch. Unfortunately, the AI in the game is just bad and unreliable. You would be better off teaming up with other players in co-op.
Fun but flawed
Overall, RUNNING WITH RIFLES offers fun and engaging gameplay with its open-world exploration and thrilling moment-to-moment combat. You decide how to play, and there are plenty of weapons, gear, and vehicles to help you do whatever you want. Just know the experience will be better with other players until the problematic AI issue gets resolved.
